Silvano Masoero is a retired pugilist who spent some time in prison due to his involvement in a crooked fight. Now, at the age of sixty, he is the helper for a football team in which his son is the star striker. Roberto, like him, is soon tempted by the lure of easy money that comes from illegal betting. In a few hours his team will take part in a vital match to gain promotion. Meanwhile, Silvano begins to analyse the mistakes he has committed in his life and faces a decision that will be both difficult and crucial.
